Exciting free summer extravaganza
Manukau City Council has put together a variety of fun activites to keep residents entertained and active this summer, as part of Manukau Parks Summer Programme which runs from December to March.
Most of these free programmes do not require registration, and are suitable for all ages.
The range of activities vary from light fitness programmes like dog walking groups, glow worms trail; to more vigorous but fun activities like beach volleyball, fitness trails, and triathlon and duathlon training.
For the exotic fitness enthusiasts, there are games of Petanque - a form of boules (French games) where players throw metal balls at a small wooden ball (called a jack).
And for the musically-oriented, there are various summer concerts around the city as well as salsa and line dancing classes
For details of these free programmes, please read the latest Manukau Matters, or download the programme guide: http://www.manukau.govt.nz/uploadedFiles/manukaugovtnz/Parks_and_Leisure/Parks/Summer2008-09.pdf
