Rescue Helicopter Attends 4-wheeler Motorbike Crash
The Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was call today at 1:00pm
10th Nov, to attend a four wheeler motorbike accident in the Waiarapa, near
Castlepoint.
The Patient was a 63yr old male from Tinui, he was found by work colleagues
trapped under the four wheeler after it had rolled on him while trying to
traverse a steep dirt track. He suffered serious back injuries
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Responded to the scene with a Wellington Free
Ambulance Paramedic on board and were able to land at the location to treat
the patient. On arrival at the scene the local road ambulance had started to
treat him. With their assistance he was then stabilized and transported to
Wellington Public Hospital emergency Department for further assessment and
treatment.
The patients colleagues and friends did a wonderful job at treating him and
saved his life by removing the bike off the injured man
The patient is currently being accessed for serious back injuries
