CDC clients in Deloittes Unlimited Fast 50
Grinning from ear to ear, Canterbury Development Corporation's Business Support Manager John Hamilton was today
celebrating the news that five of the six Christchurch companies named in the Deloittes Unlimited Fast 50 have been
through CDC programmes.
Canterbury Development Corporation is the city agency charged with accelerating growth and transforming the economy of
Christchurch.
Mr Hamilton runs the Hi-Tech Launch Programme designed at increasing management capability in high growth technology
companies. Now on its 17th round, the programme has been a training ground for many leading Christchurch businesses.
"We're so chuffed! Three of our Hi-Tech Launch Programme graduates were named in the top 50 - Enztec at number 27 with
231.78% growth, Rocket Languages at number 34 (191.32%) and Nightside at 47th (153.89%). Rocket Languages was the
national winner in the Fastest Growing Investment in R category as well," Mr Hamilton says.
Particle Systems, who shot to eighth place with 408.93% growth, are enrolled in CDC's Investment Ready programme and 4D
Steel Detailing (342.51% growth), who placed 14th, had attended CDC's Enterprise Training Programmes.
"Last year's Fast 50 overall winner, Energy Mad, won a regional award this year for Fastest Growing Retail or Consumer
Products business. Energy Mad went through CDC's Accelerated Business Growth programme; and another Hi Tech Launch
Programme graduate, Hairy Lemon Web Solutions, was a 2008 regional winner of the Fastest Growing Business Services award
"These companies really want to succeed. The day after winning his award, Graham Dockrill from Hairy Lemon was in at CDC
for an Essential Export Skills workshop!"
