Nick Willis to be welcomed home to Hutt City
Hutt City’s bronze medal Olympian Nick Willis will be welcomed home at a ceremony at Westfield Queensgate on Wednesday 22 October, Mayor David Ogden has announced.
“Nick’s a staunch Hutt-ite and we are delighted he has chosen to end his New Zealand homecoming tour in Hutt City.
“His performance at the Beijing Olympics has brought great pride to Hutt City and this is a chance for the public to welcome back Nick and celebrate his success.
"I know we’ll get a good turnout, especially from our young people who I hope will be inspired to achieve great things in sport or other aspects of life.
“Nick’s a great ambassador for Hutt City and we’re very proud of him and what he has achieved.”
What: Mayor Ogden will formally welcome Nick and present him with a gift from the city, and then Nick will address the crowd and sign autographs afterwards.
Where:  Ground floor centre court, Westfield Queensgate, Cnr Queens Drive and Bunny Street, Hutt City.
When: 4.30pm, Wednesday 22 October 2008.
