Celebrate Conservation
Week at Wellington Zoo
Wellington Zoo, in partnership with
the Department of Conservation and TVNZ 6, will be holding a
fun family day on Sunday 14 September to conclude the
national Conservation Week celebrations, Wellington Zoo’s
Chief Executive Karen Fifield announced
today.
‘Conservation Week is all about ‘meeting
the locals’ and we’re delighted to team with the
Department of Conservation and TVNZ Family on TVNZ6 to give
our community a chance to meet their locals. This is an
excellent opportunity to get up close with some of our
fascinating wildlife, and see what makes our country truly
unique.’
‘It will be a fun day out for the
whole family; we have loads of fun entertainment planned for
the day including live music. There will be presentations by
Wellington Zoo staff and DOC rangers about our New Zealand
native species including Tahi the kiwi, tuatara, little blue
penguins and the giant
weta.’
