Civic Centre Reception Relocates
From 1 September, the main entrance to the Manukau City Council Civic building will be relocated back to its original location on the western side of the building.
The entrance on the eastern side (closer to the Westfield car park side of the building) will close to all public.
Wheelchair access is available from Wiri Station Road or via the northern entrance to the basement.
The through lane accessible from Wiri Station Rd remains closed to all traffic. The refurbished public committee and meeting rooms including the Council Chamber will be open in November.
All changes will be clearly signposted around the building.
The major refurbishment of Manukau City Council's Civic building is the first since the iconic building was completed in 1976. It began in May 2007 and is due to be completed by December 2008.
The refit includes changes to the layout of work space to maximise space and natural light, more meeting rooms, improved filing and storage space, an improved Emergency Management Crisis Centre and the refurbishment of the public committee and meeting rooms including the Council Chamber.
