Manukau Libraries hosts NZ Post Book Awards Festival 08
Manukau Libraries will celebrate the country’s best writers of childrens and young adult stories at a free fun family event at the Auckland Botanic Gardens on Saturday 17 May.
The Great Garden Scavenger Hunt is part of the 2008 New Zealand Post Book Awards Festival which aims to encourage children to read and enjoy books.
Bring the kids along to hunt for their favourite New Zealand Post book characters. Council librarians will be hiding in the gardens dressed up as characters such as Tahi the Kiwi and the king from The King’s Bubbles.
There are ten characters to find and check off on the sheet provided to go into the draw for some great book prizes.
Registration for this event is essential. More information is available at all Manukau Libraries.
Events such as the New Zealand Post Book Awards Festival provide a great opportunity to get children excited and interested in reading.
