Airport owner hails landmark decision for Kapiti
07 April 2008 - 6pm
Paraparaumu Airport Director Noel Robinson says the decision by the Kapiti Coast District Council to go ahead with a District Plan Change is wonderful news and a landmark day for the Kapiti community.
“This has been a unique opportunity for me to combine good business sense with the chance to set new standards for New Zealand and leave a legacy for the whole of Kapiti - a community very close to my heart.
“Right from day one we’ve all been working so hard for this result and now I can’t wait to work together and get started on building something very special for Kapiti.
“For two years now I’ve been saying this vision can become a reality but now I want to stop talking and start doing,” Mr Robinson said.
Mr Robinson also thanked all those who had shared their views with him during the consultation process.
“Their contribution and the resulting adjustments to the Plan left us with the strongest option for building something that will bring enormous benefit to the region – at no cost to ratepayers.”
