MAXX out on Pacific culture


On Friday 7 or on Saturday 8 March, Aucklanders heading to Western Springs for the sights and sounds of Pasifika can avoid parking worries and catch a MAXX
On Saturday 8 March, a special bus service will run between Newmarket (outside 277) and Western Springs, departing every 15 minutes between 9.30am and 5.30pm. Tickets cost $3.20 each way. All Stagecoach passes and concessions are valid.

A number of regular bus services travel via Great North Road to Western Springs, with bus stops located in easy walking distance to Western Springs. Normal bus fares apply

Regular bus route 045 will run approximately every 30 minutes from Britomart (Stop D8) to Pt Chevalier via Western Springs.

Regular bus routes 048, 049, 113 to 179, and 199 will leave from Britomart (Stop D3) approximately every 15 minutes.

Regular bus routes 052 to 058, 064 to 066 and 090 to 093 can be caught from Lower Albert St for Massey/Hobsonville (via Western Springs).

Passengers are advised that the city-bound bus stops located on Great North Road by Western Springs Park and Stadium Rd will be closed all day on Saturday 8 March. An alternative bus stop is located on Great North Rd by Bullock Track.

Festival-goers can also catch a regular train service to Britomart and then take a bus to Western Springs (as outlined above). Western Line passengers are reminded that due to work related to the New Lynn station redevelopment buses will replace trains between Waitakere and Avondale on Saturday 8 March.
