Professional Building Consultants receive accreditation
Manukau City Council congratulates Professional Building Consultants Limited (PBC) on the company's recent Building Consent Authority accreditation.
PBC is a building consultant firm contracted by the council's Building Authority to deal with consent applications and issue code-of-compliance certificates.
Accreditation involves an independent assessment of the organisation's competencies, procedures, systems and policies. It focuses on strengthening the building process at the consent processing, inspection and approval stages to make sure buildings are designed and built right first time.
Manukau City Council CEO Leigh Auton says the council is working alongside its building consultants to ensure their service is professional and has the highest standards.
"It's a great effort by Professional Building Consultants," he says.
"Building can be complex with many rules and regulations. People look to the Building Authority for advice about what should or shouldn't be done when building.
"Having accredited consultants like PBC gives the council confidence that it has the right people to meet the needs of our customers and the know how to meet their compliance standards."
Manukau City Council has established a Building Authority to deal with consent applications and issue code of compliance certificates. The Building Authority works with three external building consultants: Professional Building Consultants, Manukau Building Consultants Limited (MBC) and Compass.
MBC is also accredited and Compass is due to be accredited later this year.
