KINGDOM
Justine King
Opening 6.00pm Tuesday 19
February.
Open daily 12.00 - 6.00pm Wednesday 20 to
Saturday 23. Last day Sunday 24 12.00 - 4.00pm.
This exhibition has been an attempt to exorcise the endless confusion, ambiguities and contradictions that fill my mind. It is an attempt to wring and shape some tangibles from the chaos. An impossible task. However the works can be enjoyed in their own right. The name Kingdom refers to the individual search for a place and role in the world -our "kingdom", a place that is unique to each of us.

HUNDREDS AND
THOUSANDS
Mihi Murray, Nga Puhi, Ngati Awa
In this her first exhibition at Thistle Hall, Mihi uses minimal materials and the simplest of techniques, and amasses marks and objects to create complex and intriguing ‘abstract’ works. One mark or object on its own is a single entity with its own meaning, but when that same mark or object is multiplied in the ‘hundreds and thousands’, the resultant operation takes on a whole new meaning which the viewer negotiates as per their own life experiences
