Daring Dunedin Bares All

Media Release for immediate use 25 January 2008

Daring Dunedin Bares All

Dunedin is about to find out what is really under their kilts with the launch of “How to look MORE good naked” on Friday.

What started out as a random question on the MORE FM breakfast show with Damian Newell and Nicky Hunt has escalated into a major on air promotion the likes of which New Zealand has never seen before.

“Would you go naked for $500?” was the question that sparked all the interest. As the week progressed, the amount on offer gradually grew, until Arthur Barnett, one of the countries oldest and most progressive retailers jumped on board and offered $10, 000 worth of goods if one brave Dunedinite would appear naked on a billboard in front of thousands of curious Otago people every day.

“We have been completely blown away by the response,” says Grant Millman MORE FM Programme Director. “The amazing thing about this promotion is not only the number of entries that we have received so far, but that 15 of them will end up on a billboard and they are still not scared.”

Of that 15, one very brave, very naked, person will eventually end up on their own billboard.

Grant Millman is very quick to point out that this is not a beauty contest, it is a celebration of what is real. “It’s time we celebrated the normal people who have all those bits and bobs that you just don’t see in the magazines”.

“Here in Dunedin we are all about real people and ‘How to look MORE good naked’ is the best way we know to celebrate that”.
