Sir Edmund Hillary book of condolences

Sir Edmund Hillary book of condolences - Canterbury Museum

Following is a statement from Anthony Wright, Director of Canterbury Museum, regarding the Sir Edmund Hillary book of condolences at Canterbury Museum:

"At the conclusion of the period of mourning, Canterbury Museum will present the book of condolences to Lady Hillary and the family. A copy of the book will remain in the Museum archives as a record of the expressions of sympathy from Cantabrians and visitors."

Canterbury Museum's book of condolences is located in the Visitor Lounge on Level 3, alongside a bust of Sir Edmund Hillary and a display of the blue and white striped sunhat and assault boots that he wore during the 1953 Everest expedition.

General admission to the Museum is free; donations are appreciated. Canterbury Museum is located on Rolleston Avenue, in the Cultural Precinct, next to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens and opposite The Arts Centre on Worcester Boulevard.
