Newlands water main burst – update
City Council engineers working to repair a burst water main in Newlands are expecting to restore water supply about 9am today.
The water main ruptured near the intersection of Horokiwi Road West and Kenmore Street about 4am today. It cut the supply of water to hundreds of homes in the area.
City Council Infrastructure Planning Manager Maria Archer says the roadway in the vicinity of the burst has been damaged – and she urges motorists to take alternative routes if possible to avoid delays.
