Michael Hill quashes golf rumours
Two
rumours doing the rounds in Queenstown that Michael Hill is
going to restrict the number of spectators allowed entry to
his course during the Michael Hill N.Z. Open and that the
Pro-Am event was not going to be held on his course have
both been firmly quashed by the man himself.
Hill
said that he wanted as many people as possible to come to
the event and view what will be such a great
spectacle.
“I know ticket sales are very strong
and ahead of total sales achieved for the open last year,
but I want to see double and three times that number at this
year’s event,” he said.
Hill also assured all
those participating in the pro-am that it would be held at
The Hills.
“There have been rumours that this
event would be at Millbrook, but that is not the case. We
are working closely with Millbrook for the Open and they
will host the final qualifying tournament on the
Tuesday.
“We are in for a great week of golf.
While we have had a slow start to the growing season, things
have really picked up now and we are right on target to
producing the course in top order for the Michael Hill New
Zealand Open,” he
said.
