Temporary CBD bus stop for Sandringham Rd service

Joint Media Release:
Auckland Regional Transport Authority and Auckland City Council
23 August 2007

Temporary CBD bus stop for Sandringham Road services

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) and Auckland City Council advise that from Sunday 26 August the CBD bus stop for the Sandringham Road buses is temporarily relocating, as the Queen Street upgrade continues at the corner of Queen and Victoria Streets.

Work at the intersection of Victoria Street, to widen the footpaths, replace existing paving and kerbs, and install multi-function poles, has already begun. To complete this work quickly and efficiently the bus stop on Victoria Street East, which is used by Sandringham Road services, needs to be temporarily relocated.

From Sunday, Sandringham Road services 233, 241, 243, 243X, 246, 248, 248X and 249 will no longer pick up and drop off passengers from bus stop M5 on Victoria Street East. These services will be temporarily relocating to bus stop M3 on Victoria Street West (outside the New President Hotel).

The Link bus will continue to depart from bus stop M3, along with the temporarily relocated Sandringham Road services.

Bus departure times will remain the same.

ARTA and the Auckland City Council are working closely with bus operators to minimise disruption to passengers. The support and understanding of passengers while the Queen Street upgrade is being undertaken is greatly appreciated.

MAXX ambassadors will be on site to direct and advise passengers about the new temporary stop.

Passengers can get more information about timetables and the new temporary bus stop for the Sandringham Road services from MAXX on (09) 366 6400 or at www.maxx.co.nz
