North Shore City joins study of harbour crossing options
16 August 2007
North Shore City Council today announced it is signing on as an equal partner in the Waitemata Harbour Crossing Study.
North Shore City joins forces with Transit, ARC, ARTA and Auckland City Council to conduct a study of harbour crossing options, to be completed by March 2008.
The council's general manager of infrastructure services, Geoff Mason, says the scope of the study will shortly be finalised by an executive group representing each of the parties.
The council's infrastructure and environment committee today agreed North Shore City will contribute up to $325,000 towards the study's $1.3 million budget. The council will apply to Land Transport New Zealand for subsidy funding.
