Briefing for prospective DHB candidates
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board (HBDHB) is hosting a meeting for anyone interested in standing for the district health board in the upcoming elections.
If you want to make a difference to the health of your community and want to know what’s involved in becoming a board member - come along and find out what’s required.
The meeting for prospective candidates will be held from 4:30pm – 6:30pm, Wednesday 15 August, in the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board Boardroom, second floor, Corporate Office, Corner Omahu Road and McLeod Streets, Hastings (above GJ Gardner Homes)
Current board members will be on hand to provide insights, and you’ll be able to pick up an election pack as well as any other information you may need.
HBDHB requires seven elected members and is keen to have board members of different ages, ethnicities and backgrounds to represent the Hawke’s Bay community. Nominations are open until Friday 24 August.

Friday 27
July Candidate nominations open.
Friday 24
August Candidate nominations close (at 12 noon).
21-26
September Voting documents issued – start of voting
period, special votes are issued and early processing of
votes begins.
Saturday 13 October Election day – end of
voting period (at 12 noon) and announcement of preliminary
results (as soon as practical after the close of
voting).
From 13 October Special votes counted and
official results declared.
10 December Newly elected
board members take
office.
