There are only 12 days
left in the Westfield Shop For Your School campaign and the
competition is heating up with five bonus points on offer
from next week.
Communities across the country are helping their favourite schools claim their share of new technology, sporting and educational equipment.
This year sees the prize pool of the Shop For Your School campaign reach a record $700,000 worth of prizes at each of the ten participating Westfield centres. They include Apple computers, Adidas sporting equipment, Canon digital cameras and Scholastic book vouchers.
Friends and family of children in primary and intermediate schools throughout New Zealand can register for their favourite school at their local Westfield Shopping Centre. The campaign means communities can turn shopping into learning simply by bringing their receipts to the centre collection point.
The Westfield Shop For Your School campaign runs until 1 July, 2007. The winners will be determined on a points-per-student basis to give schools of all sizes an even chance.
Shoppers also have the opportunity to gain five points for their school for every dollar they spend in the last bonus point period. The ‘final frenzy’ runs from the 25 June – 1 July, 2007 and could make all the difference in a tight race.
The Westfield Shop for Your School campaign is now in its fifth year. Over that time Kiwis have helped thousands of primary and intermediate students receive more than $3 million of educational resources and associated prizes.
“This is a great way for Kiwis to get involved with a great cause because all they need to do is sign up and turn their shopping into learning,” says Westfield New Zealand National Marketing and Communications Manager, Linda Trainer.
“It’s marvellous to see so many schools taking part in the program and with the checkout in sight the final few days are very important.”
This year 357 schools, over 100,000 students and more than 15,000 registered shoppers across New Zealand are taking part in Shop For Your School campaign.
