Unlocking Secrets At Art Gallery
< Unlocking Secrets At Art Gallery Children
can unlock the secrets of paintings from the hit Walt Disney
Pictures movie Bridge to Terabithia at Auckland Art Gallery
these school holidays. The gallery and two of its
paintings feature in this enchanting and heartfelt family
film which received a 4 star review in the New Zealand
Herald. Like the movie’s child stars Jess and Leslie,
kids will be encouraged to “keep your mind wide open” at
a special activity centre in the gallery. As well as
learning more about Pieter Breughel’s A Village Fair and
Henri Gascard’s Louise de Keroualle c1670, kids can make
their own shield and crown to visit the imaginary land of
Terabithia. Information sheets will be available for
parents and children to learn more about art together. The
free activity centre is open from 30 June to 15 July in the
main gallery, cnr Wellesley & Kitchener Sts from 10am to
5pm. Participants receive a free child’s ticket to the
movie at any SKYCITY Cinema, if accompanied by a paying
adult. SKYCITY Cinemas general manager Matthew Liebmann
says “Bridge to Terabithia is a wonderful family film for
the school holidays with a strong New Zealand
connection.” ends
