Wanted: conservation superheroes for jumbo holiday task
Auckland Zoo elephant Kashin has a mammoth plan these school holidays (30 June - 15 July) to help save her friends in the wild, but she needs help!
By purchasing an ASB Kashin Dollar and putting it to good use, you can be a holiday hero and make a difference to some of Kashin's endangered friends.
Your child can decide which of three animal projects to support, by depositing the Kashin Dollar in the appropriate jumbo moneyboxes placed at the zoo. Along with supporting conservation efforts, each Kashin Dollar comes with a fun activity sheet to complete as you explore the zoo.
Auckland Zoo aims to raise conservation awareness by empowering children to make a conscious decision about which animal project they would like their Kashin Dollar to support - the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Project, 21st Century Tiger, or Cheetah Outreach.
The three field projects assist endangered animals in the wild and the zoo provides ongoing support to these projects through the Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund.
During the two free daily shows at 10.45am and 11.45am, kids can take part in a secret super agent school for conservation crusaders. Big Mama K has instructed Special Agent O to train up all prospective super agents for a licence to save.
Do you have what it takes to perfect the Big Mama K twisty trunk shake? Are you willing to run as fast as a cheetah or roar as loud as a tiger? If so, you could be a super secret agent, go undercover and help protect animals everywhere.
Along with the daily shows, there will be giveaways, great daily prizes to courtesy of ASB, MusicWorks, and popular animal encounters.
July school holidays is sponsored by ASB and supported by ZM. Normal zoo admission applies - Adults $18.00, Children $9.00 (Aged 4-15 years), Senior Citizens $14.00 (with ID), Students $14.00 (with ID). Family rates also available.
