Fireworks, Flying Trapeze And A Chilly Winter Dip In The Harbour -
The Petone Winter Carnival Hits Town
on Saturday 7 July
_The inaugural Petone Winter Carnival is a major one-day festival celebrating the very best of winter on the iconic Petone Foreshore.
The Carnival will feature an eclectic programme of free live music, visual arts, daring circus acts, fun-filled family activities and the spectacular finale - the annual Pelorus Trust Fireshow, along the Petone Foreshore on Saturday 7 July from 11am to 9pm.
Building upon the success of previous Pelorus Trust Fireshows, Hutt City Council has developed this innovative and colourful programme of performances and activities, which have been designed to showcase the fantastic public spaces, harbour, and foreshore and to appeal to all ages and tastes.
Hutt City Mayor David Ogden, said: “We plan to build the Petone Winter Carnival to become one of the region’s highlights in the heart of winter. It is a family-friendly event for all communities and the range of performances and activities throughout the day and night means that there is something for everyone to enjoy. I encourage residents of the Greater Wellington Region to come down to Petone to enjoy the wonderful facilities along the Foreshore.”
