What would you do with 200 hectares?

What would you do with 200 hectares?

Rodney District Council is currently seeking suggestions from the public to help prepare two reserve management plans for MetroPark, Silverdale and Green Road, Dairy Flat. Part of a pre-draft submission process, the comments will help determine the future of these two important sites.

“Our communities have made it very clear they want a say on what happens in their backyards. This is an opportunity to tell us what they would do with around 34 hectares in Silverdale and 154 hectares in Dairy Flat.” said Mayor John Law.

“These are very significant pieces of land and by asking for your feedback now, and then going out for formal consultation and further submissions on the Reserve Management Plans, we really want to listen to what you have to say.”.

It is anticipated that MetroParkwill cater predominantly for HibiscusCoastsporting requirements, while Green Roadcould cater for local, regional and national facilities. Both reserves have the potential for significant informal recreation areas as well as providing for sporting opportunities.

You can post your pre-draft submission to Rodney District Council, Private Bag 500, Orewa 1330. For more information on these projects call Rodney District Council on 0800 426 5169 or visit our website www.rodney.govt.nz
