Beatbooth Now Available In Palmerston North
Beatbooth Now Available At Palmerston North Library
Beatbooth is a brand new initiative by the
Palmerston North City Library. From May 24th 2007, any
member of the Library will be able to book our music
recording room, which is equipped with the
following:
- an iMac computer
- Pro Tools recording
software
- Digidesign MBox 2 in/out box
- 4-way
headphone splitter
- Axiom49 MIDI keyboard
Pro Tools is the industry standard recording software, so you’ll be able to record tracks anywhere and come and work on them at the Library. Since the Stomach recording studio is just round the corner at Lombard Street, you’ll be able to record huge drum and guitar sounds there, then bring them to the Library on a disc and play around with them. We’ll be keeping things a bit more quiet at the Library (no amps or drumkits please!), but if you bring your guitar you can plug straight into the computer and use the Amplitube guitar amp simulator to pretend you’re playing through a wall of Marshalls.
Use the built-in microphone to record vocals, or bring your own.
The Axiom49 allows you to input MIDI data, which means you can play strings, bass, drums, and all sorts of other sounds on it. And with the headphone splitter you can have up to 4 people listening to the mix at whatever volume they like.
Once you’ve finished your masterwork, you can burn it onto a CD and take it home.
So if you’ve got a song in your head that’s just waiting to get out, come to Beatbooth and unleash it!
