Auckland Lotto Player Nets $1.2 million
A Lotto player in Point Chevalier in Auckland has won $1,258,639 on Lotto First Division tonight, while Powerball continues to jackpot and is now worth a massive $14 million for next week's draw says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.
Tonight's winning ticket was purchased in PK Superette in Point Chevalier, Auckland.
Lotto Powerball has jackpotted tonight to an estimated $14 million in next week's draw, meaning if it is won next week it could be at least the fourth largest prize won on any NZ Lotteries game.
A Strike Four prize has been won in tonight's draw by tickets sold at Drury Lane Lotto Superette in Drury and 6 Eleven Super Mart in Onehunga, Auckland. Each winner has won $100,307 each.
Tonight's big winner was Barry Boston from Drury, who won $125,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel. Barry is just the third spinner to spin Lotto's revamped Winning Wheel, which now offers players the chance to win prizes ranging from $100,000 right up to two chances to win $1 million.
Barry and his wife, Colleen, enjoyed a luxury weekend in Wellington staying at the Duxton Hotel, a shopping trip with a stylist for an outfit to wear on the show, and lunch with Lotto presenter Hilary Timmins, leading up to his winning spin.
Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Fendalton New World in Christchurch. The serial number is 613-53386757-20XX.
"Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any NZ Lotteries outlet," Mr McLeay says.
