A number of free author talks are taking place this May.
To celebrate the 11th annual New Zealand Post Awards, Ted Dawe will be touring Mt Albert, Otahuhu and Pt Chevalier community libraries on 8 May. The New Zealand Post Book Awards encourage New Zealand children to read and enjoy books. Auckland City Libraries will also be holding a number of NZ-themed storytimes in support of the awards.
Celebrated cook and author Alison Holst will be visiting Remuera Community Library on 10 May to promote the new edition of her best-selling cookbook, The Best of Alison Holst.
In this month’s Glengarry Writers in the Library event at the Central City Library on 15 May, author and marine biologist C George Muller will talk about his “factual eco-thriller” Echoes in the Blue. Echoes in the Blue is a finalist for the international Nautilus Book Award, which recognises authors and books that contribute to our society’s awareness and well-being.
This Glengarry Writers in the Library monthly series is presented in association with Whitcoulls.
Deborah Challinor, best-selling author of New Zealand historical novels, will be talking at Mt Albert Community Library on 17 May about her work and some of the key New Zealand historical events that are the background to many of her novels.
