Go Public Transport

Go Public Transport

Wellington Zoo and Go Wellington are encouraging people to use public transport by offering half-price Zoo admission if you go by bus.

Karen Fifield, CEO of Wellington Zoo and NZ Bus, Acting Chief Executive, Bill Rae launched the campaign today enabling anyone who travels on a Go Wellington or Stagecoach bus to Newtown in May and June to receive half price entry to the Zoo on the day they travel.

"We are delighted to partner with Go Wellington and encourage Wellingtonians to take a greener mode of transport," says Ms Fifield

"We think this is a fun way for visitors to be rewarded for reducing greenhouse gases. This also fits with Wellington Zoo's aim to become a more sustainable organisation."

"NZ Bus are dressing a series of buses to support great Wellington attractions and events. To promote the Zoo NZ Bus has donated a Go Wellington bus exterior, providing a huge moving billboard for the Zoo." says Mr Rae

Usual Zoo admission charges are; children under 3 free, children 3-16 years $6 and adults $15. The half price bus promotion will run until the end of June 2007. And people travelling to Newtown need to remember to ask the driver for the Zoo voucher.
