Keeping Our Kids Safe in WELLINGTON:
The
Safekids New Zealand Campaign Workshop
EVENT:
Safekids
New Zealand is running a half day workshop for people in
Wellington who are interested in helping to keep children
free from injury.
This is an opportunity for people and community groups to get together and hear about the upcoming Safekids Campaign.
SAFEKIDS:
Safekids New Zealand
is the child safety service of Starship Children’s Health,
with a mission to reduce the severity and incidence of
unintentional injury to New Zealand children aged 0 to 14
years.
Safekids seeks to raise awareness and foster behaviour and encourage environmental changes that allow New Zealand’s children to live safe, happy and healthy lives. Safekids works with local safety organisations to promote child safety and ensure that children’s injury issues are kept on the council’s agenda.
SAFEKIDS ANNUAL
CAMPAIGN
Safekids runs an annual campaign which aims to
reduce the incidence of some of the most critical safety
issues facing New Zealand’s children. The October 07/08
campaign will focus on Child Drowning Prevention and Child
Cyclist Safety.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Anyone interested in keeping Kids Safe, in particular…...
Those working in Child Injury Prevention, Public Health, Health Promotion, Road and Cycling Safety, Water Safety, Early childhood and Primary School Educators, Maori, Pacific and Community workers, People involved in sport and recreation, Home visitors, City and Regional Council representatives involved in road and water safety.

The workshop will run from 9.30 am – 12.15 pm followed by a light lunch.
