Transit reschedules SH1 Old Hautere Cross Road resealing

Transit New Zealand has rescheduled its resealing of a section of SH1 south of Otaki this week.

Transit Regional Manager Graham Taylor says the resealing work, which was to be carried out today at the intersection of SH1 and Old Hautere Cross Road, has been rescheduled due to last week’s poor weather. The sealing will now be done later this week.

The resealing had to be rescheduled as the type of treatment needed to be changed to fit better with the colder weather being experienced. The resealing will be done between the same hours of 9am and 6pm with two lanes of traffic kept available at all times. Any potential delays will be kept to a minimum.

Speed restrictions will be in place for 3-4 days after the resealing while the stones adhere fully to the bitumen. Motorists are advised to take care on this section of road until the chipseal is bedded down and the road swept.
