CMJ traffic bulletin: Sunday 15 April until Thursday 19 April
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures on the Central Motorway Junction over the next week for installation of Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and repair work.
Full motorway closures:
Sunday
15 until Tuesday 17 April – CLOSED – overnight from
10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning for gantry
modifications:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) between
Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp and Wellington St
on-ramp
Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 April – CLOSED –
overnight from 10pm until 5am the following morning for
gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway (SH1)
northbound between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St
on-ramp
Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 15 April –
CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am on Monday for gantry
modifications:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound
to Newton Rd off-ramp
Sunday 15 until Tuesday 17 April –
CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following
morning for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway
(SH1) northbound link to Northwestern Motorway (SH16)
westbound
* Southern Motorway (SH1) to Nelson St off-ramp
citybound
Sunday 15 until Wednesday 18 April – CLOSED
– overnight from 8.30pm until 5am the following morning
for repair work:
* Newton Rd on-ramp to Northwestern
Motorway (SH16) westbound
Tuesday 17 until Thursday 19
April – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the
following morning for paving work:
* Northwestern
Motorway (SH16) eastbound links to Port and Southern
Motorway (SH1) southbound
Thursday 19 April – CLOSED –
overnight from 9pm until 5am on Friday for gantry
modifications:
* Port to Northwestern Motorway (SH16)
westbound and Port to North (SH1) northbound
Monday 16
April – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am on Tuesday
for repair work:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound
off-ramp to Northern Motorway (SH1) northbound

Street
During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.
Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
