Westpac Rescue Helicopter opens hangar doors for public open day
Date: Sunday 22 April, 1.00-3.00pm
Next Sunday, 22 April 2007, the crew of the Auckland based Westpac Rescue Helicopter is opening its doors so the people of Auckland can see the operation firsthand and meet the pilots, paramedics and crewmen.
Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust Communications Manger Kelle Taylor says the Open Day is a great way for public to show their support of their rescue helicopter and find out more about what the organisation does.
“We will have the rescue helicopter on display, along with the medical equipment we use. The public can also see where the crew sleep and eat and how the 24-7 operation works overall”.
The doors will be open from 1.00pm-3.00pm and there will be kid’s rides, a sausage sizzle, merchandise for sale, the flight simulator and photos with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The open day is part of the Westpac Chopper Appeal. To support your rescue helicopter go to www.rescuehelicopter.org.nz or to make an automatic $25 donation call 0900 4 RESCUE.
