The Hauraki Gulf Forum's membership is at full strength as it prepares to embark on the second 'Hauraki Gulf: State of the Environment Report'.
The first
A detailed project plan for the
second report will be presented at the Forum's July
meeting. The Forum comprises representatives from iwi and
from central and local government agencies with statutory
responsibilities for managing use, development and
conservation within the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park and its
catchment. Chairman Laly Haddon said all vacancies in
membership
Recent formal appointments
and reappointments include: * Betty Williams, Paul
Majurey, Rangimarie Rawiri, Teddy Andrews, Liane Ngamane and
Mr Haddon to represent tangata whenua; * Dr John Tamahori
and John Taunton-Clark to represent the Ministers of Maori
Affairs and Fisheries respectively; * Bill Smith and Wayne
Walker to represent Rodney District Council, Dick Quax and
David Collings to represent Manukau City and Arthur Hinds
to represent Environment Waikato. The Forum confirmed Mr
Haddon's chairmanship at this week's quarterly
