New BMW X5s set to fly over SKYCITY!

New BMW X5s set to fly over SKYCITY!

This Saturday, New Zealanders will have their first opportunity to glimpse the incredible new BMW X5, as two cars are hoisted seven storeys into the air and craned over the SKYCITY Convention Centre! They will land in their new home for the next four weeks - the Terrace of the SKYCITY Grand Hotel on Federal St, Auckland.

The cars are both 2nd generation BMW X5s and will reside at the SKYCITY Grand Hotel until 21 April. BMW will be holding a series of launch events from the Level 7 Terrace over the next month for the X5.

The first generation BMW X5, launched in 1999, was hailed as a revolutionary automobile - pioneering the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment with more than 600,000 vehicles sold to date worldwide.

The new BMW X5s will be craned between 5am and 7am and Federal St will be partially closed until 11am. Pigs won't be flying, but these cars certainly will. So all you car buffs, come on down to SKYCITY on Saturday morning and catch this special event.
