Waitati firefighter concludes 41 years volunteer service
James Gibson White, Jim White as he is known to most, retired from active duties of the Waitati Volunteer Fire Brigade on 31 March 2007. This is forty-one and a half years after he joined the Blueskin Fire Unit as a foundation member in September 1965. Jim held the position of Deputy Chief Fire Officer for the entire time.
Service to a voluntary community service such as this is outstanding to say the least.
