CMJ traffic bulletin: Sunday 18 March until Thursday 22 March
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures on the Central Motorway Junction over the next week for installation of Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and repair work.
Full motorway closures:
Sunday
18 and Monday 19 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm
until 5am the following morning for installation of signage
and cables:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between
Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp
Tuesday 20
March – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am on
Wednesday for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway
(SH1) northbound between Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp and
Wellington St on-ramp
Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 18
until Thursday 22 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm
until 5am the following morning for installation of
ducts:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound links to
Port and Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound
Sunday 18
until Thursday 22 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm
until 5.30am the following morning for installation of
ducts:
* Port to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound
and Port to North (SH1) northbound
Monday 19 and Tuesday
20 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the
following morning for installation of signage:
* Grafton
Rd on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound
Tuesday
20 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am on
Wednesday for installation of electronic sensors in the road
surface:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound link to
Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound
Tuesday 20 March
– CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am on
Wednesday for gantry modifications:
* Southern Motorway
(SH1) northbound link to Northwestern Motorway (SH16)
westbound
* Southern Motorway (SH1) to Nelson St off-ramp

Tuesday 20 March – CLOSED – overnight from
10.30pm until 5.30am on Wednesday for installation of

Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 March – CLOSED
– overnight from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning
for installation of ducts:
* Khyber Pass on-ramp to
Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

Thursday 22 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until
5.30am the following morning for installation of ducts:

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.
Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
