Bus to the start line for Round the Bays

Monday 13 March 2007

Bus to the start line for this year’s Round the Bays

Aucklanders running or walking for charity in this year’s Round the Bays fun run can rest easy and take a bus to the start line.

Special services between the city and Kohimarama will operate this Sunday 18 March between 7am and 8.30am to drop participants at the start line and deliver them back into the city once the event has finished.

Buses will depart from Vellenoweth Green, Tamaki Drive and the corner of Averill Ave and Tamaki Drive and travel direct to Mahuhu Crescent adjacent to the railway campus.

After the run, buses will be departing from Tamaki Drive by Auckland Rd from 11am until 2.30pm and travel St Johns Rd and Remuera Rd to Mahuhu Crescent.

Once Tamaki Drive reopens buses will depart from Vellenoweth Green and travel via Tamaki Drive back to the start line in Quay Street. The cash fare for both services is $2 one-way per passenger. Please note there is limited space for prams and trundlers on these services.

Normal bus services will resume after 2.30pm.

Fullers will be operating a special ferry from Half Moon Bay for participants. It will depart at 8am and normal fares apply.

Normal bus, train and ferry services will operate for those coming into the city from the south, north, east and west.

For more information on getting to all of Auckland’s events by bus, train or ferry, check out the MAXX website at www.maxx.co.nz or call 09 366 6400.
