Special buses for AK07 launch

Aucklanders going to ‘A Little More Light,’ the spectacular opening event of AK07 being held at 7.30pm this Saturday in the Domain can take the easy option and travel by bus and train with MAXX.

A special shuttle service will run from Britomart to the Domain every 20 minutes between 4pm and 7.20pm for $2 (one-way cash fare). Return buses will leave the Domain from 9.40pm.

Event goers can also catch a Link bus every 15 minutes to the Domain from stops around the inner city for $1.60

one-way.

Those travelling from the North Shore can catch special Ritchie’s buses departing from Albany station at 5.50pm, 6.10pm and 6.30pm and travel via Constellation station direct to the Domain. Return buses to Constellation and Albany stations will leave the Domain approximately 9.40pm when the event finishes. Standard fares apply.

For ferry passengers, the 9.30pm sailing to Waiheke Island will depart at 10.15pm to accommodate those leaving the event.

If weather prevents the concert from proceeding, it will be postponed to Sunday 11 March and cancelled if poor weather makes it not possible to run on Sunday.

For more information on getting to AK07 events by public transport, check out the official MAXX travel guide to AK07 at www.maxx.co.nz or call 09 366 6400.

Passengers travelling on public transport this weekend to get to special events are reminded to allow plenty of time for their journey as it is expected that many Aucklanders will choose to travel by public transport to avoid traffic queues and parking hassles.
