Last night, for the first time ever, a real, live horse switched on the Sky Tower lights!
To celebrate the launch of Cup Week and the upcoming SKYCITY Auckland Cup, the Sky Tower was lit green and purple last night by one of Auckland racing's finest fillies!
The Sky Tower has changed colour from Thursday 1 to Wednesday 7 March to match the official colours of Ellerslie Racing, home of the SKYCITY Auckland Cup race.
Racing fashionista Bridgette O'Sullivan was also on hand for a night of horsing around plus an assortment of racing faces and the incredible Auckland Cup trophy.
The SKYCITY Auckland Cup event will be raced on Wednesday 7 March so whether you're a racing fan, a fashion follower or just looking for a great day out in the sun - the SKYCITY Auckland Cup is the place to be!
There will be free buses heading out to Ellerslie, from outside SKYCITY, leaving at 12.15pm on the day. The first race starts at 12.40pm, the SKYCITY Auckland Cup race will be at 5.35pm and the last race runs at 6.35pm.
For those who can't make it out to Ellerslie on the day, SKYCITY's got you covered with TAB totes for the first time onsite and big screens throughout the building showing all Cup Week events.
