CMJ traffic bulletin: Sunday 4 March until Thursday 8 March

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures on the Central Motorway Junction over the next week for installation of Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and repair work.

Full motorway closures:
Sunday 4 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5.30am on Monday for installation of signage:
Southern Motorway (SH1) between Nelson St off-ramp and Fanshawe St on-ramp northbound

Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning for installation of signage:
Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Tuesday 6 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9.30pm until 5am the following morning for installation of signage:
Southern Motorway (SH1) between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp southbound

Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9.30pm until 5am the following morning for installation of signage:
Southern Motorway (SH1) between Fanshawe St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp southbound

Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 4 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am on Monday for installation of electronic sensors in the road surface:
Grafton Rd and Symonds St on-ramps to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

Sunday 4 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5am on Monday for installation of signage:
Wellington St on-ramp to Northern Motorway (SH1) northbound

Sunday 4 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am on Monday for installation of signage:
Port to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound and Port to North northbound

Sunday 4 and Monday 5 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning for graffiti removal:
Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound off-ramp to Northern Motorway (SH1) northbound
Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound off-ramp to Nelson Street

Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning for installation of signage:
Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound link to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound
Southern Motorway (SH1) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound

Tuesday 6 until Thursday 8 March – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for installation of electronic sensors in the road surface:
Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound links to Port and Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5.30am the following morning for installation of ducts:
Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp northbound

Wednesday 7 March – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5am on Thursday for installation of signage:
Hobson St on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound

Thursday 8 March – CLOSED – overnight from 12.30am until 5am on Friday for installation of electronic sensors in the road surface:
Hobson St on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
