Support the Sanctuary Street Appeal

MEDIA RELEASE
25 February 2007

Support the Sanctuary Street Appeal & do your bit for Wellington’s native wildlife

Volunteers from Wellington’s award-winning Karori Wildlife Sanctuary will soon be taking to the streets with their collection buckets. And they need YOUR help!

On Wednesday 4 April, you are invited to join them and help to raise much-needed funds to support the continued restoration of native flora and fauna.

“Already the Sanctuary is making a noticeable difference to the wildlife around Wellington city but we still have a long way to go.” says Sanctuary chief executive Nancy McIntosh-Ward.

“Our annual street appeal is one way the community can help us continue our journey and play an active part in our unique 500-year journey”

If you want to do your bit for Wellington’s wildlife, the Sanctuary is looking for volunteers to help with the street collection. They will be collecting in the city and around the Wellington region and would love to hear from anybody who can spare even as little as half an hour during their lunch break on 4 April.

Please contact the Sanctuary on 04 920 9200 or email volunteer@sanctuary.org.nz for further information.
