Please Bring Our Bunnies Back!

Seven rabbits and a guinea pig have been stolen from Omana Regional Park and the ARC wants them back.
Omana ranger Mimouk Hannan says two cages were broken into during the night on Thursday 4 January and the two adult rabbits; five baby rabbits and Trevor the guinea pig were taken.
The cages, made by students from Waimokoia School in Bucklands Beach, were built in the shape of Thomas the Tank Engine and Clarabel from the popular children’s train television programme.
“Waimokoia students visit us every week during term time to help out on the park and many locals come up to feed the animals each day.
“There are going to be a lot of disappointed kids and visitors now that all of our little furry friends have gone. We’ve still got the pigs and the chickens, but the friendly rabbits were especially popular with the young ones,” she says.
If anyone has any information about Omana Regional Park’s rabbits and guinea pig, please phone the Omana rangers on 09 536 6007.
