Holiday season at Auckland City Libraries

Get into the holiday season at Auckland City Libraries

To help the whole family get into the summer holiday season, Auckland City Libraries is celebrating a variety of themed events and activities.

Five to 12 year-olds have until 17 December to register for the summer holiday programme - Hot Summer Cool Books: Passport to Wonderland. This programme runs from 10 December to 5 February.

If you check out any five items in our Take 5 competition, which runs from 11 December to 8 January, you’ll have a chance to win a fantastic hamper of books to the value of $100.

Waiheke Community Library invites parents to an informative and insightful evening at Te Huruhi School Hall on 6 December with author and social commentator Celia Lashlie.

The entire family can enjoy the festive tunes of the Auckland Philharmonia Young Achievers Christmas Concert on 8 December at the Central City Library. Ticketsare on sale now.

Children young and old are invited to help celebrate the launch of New Zealand author Witi Ihimaera’s new children’s book The Amazing Adventures of Razza the Rat with a very special storytime at the Central City Library on 10 December.

Try out the latest Xbox and PS2 games, at the Central City Library on 15 December and at the Otahuhu Community Library on 16 December. Pit your skills against other competitors in our gaming events. The games are also available to rent.
