Council decides on Hillmorton Hospital site
Christchurch City Council today decided it would work with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust and Ngai Tahu Property Limited (NTPL) to identify potential purchasers for the administration building on the former Hillmorton Hospital site.
The building, which currently sits on a NTPL development site, has a heritage listing due to expire on 7 December 2006.
As well, Council will retain a fountain that exists on reserve land, near where the building is situated, and a memorial to the wider Sunnyside complex will be developed after consultation with the wider community.
