Armistice Day Event
To recognise the Year of the Veteran, the Christchurch City Council > will hold a special event on Armistice Day, Saturday 11 November. > >
The event will begin at the Bridge of Remembrance at 11.00am where > there will be two minutes silence, followed by speeches from > Christchurch Mayor Garry Moore, The Very Reverend Peter Beck, Dean of > Christchurch and a representative from each of the three armed > services. > >
Speeches will be followed by a march to Cathedral Square, where the > Canterbury Foundation Band will give a small concert. > > Members of all services and other appropriate groups, as well as the > general public, are encouraged to take part in the event. > >
