Christchurch City Council announces new vehicle policy
The Christchurch City Council has implemented a new vehicle policy that provides cost-effective transport for staff while meeting business needs and contributing to a cleaner environment.
The new policy includes suggestions from staff and staff unions received during the consultation period that started a month ago, and includes changes that reduce the size of the fleet, consolidate vehicles into one pool, establish clear guidelines for vehicle allocation and authorised use, and improved reporting on use statistics.
The Council hopes to save about $400,000 a year with the improved management of its corporate fleet.
