NZ Sculpture OnShore 3 -12 November
Fort Takapuna Historic Reserve, Vauxhall Road, Devonport Open daily 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. $5 suggested donation.
The stunning parkland site of this 19th century naval fort with its amazing views to Rangitoto and the Hauraki Gulf is once again the venue for NZ Sculpture OnShore, a significant fundraiser for women’s refuges. With the dramatic landscape as a background, some artists have been inspired to create site-specific work for the 2006 exhibition
All the sculptures are for sale and in 2004 the exhibition resulted in $200,000 being donated to refuges throughout the country. Once again – local North Shore schools will exhibit their art in the Historic Fort and added attractions include a sculpture shop for smaller outdoor works, a café and guided tours of the exhibition at 11am daily.
