Westfield Style Pasifika Spectacular A Glorious Celebration Of Our Fashion, Music And Dance
For two nights only the Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award and Entertainment Spectacular will celebrate New Zealand’s unique place in the Pacific creating a fresh and brilliant show onstage at the Auckland Town Hall.
Over 100 innovative and exciting designers finalist garments from throughout the Pacific will create the largest and most exciting Fashion Award in this part of the world.
Entertaining will be some of the cream the talent from New Zealand and the Pacific including Che Fu, Spacifix, Aaradhna and Tyson. The resulting vibrancy when combined with the culture and the fashion creates a truly potent mixture and an extraordinary and memorable night.
To add to a true melting pot of stunning entertainment there is the Rapa Dance Collective, Elvis and Latin Fever, Thomas Stowers, Auckland Pacific Gospel Choir and the Yun-Tzu Cheng-Chuen Association.
The Show and Fashion Award will commence at 7.30pm on Thursday October 5th and Friday October 6th. The Fashion Awards are presented by Prime Minister Hon Helen Clark on the Friday night. Tickets are available at Ticketek and tickets are $30 and limited.
All the cultural influences that make up New Zealand - Maori, European, Asian and Polynesian are celebrated at Westfield Style Pasifika in an astounding and unexpected way.
“This year has been a milestone for Westfield Style Pasifika as the garments in quality and style are the best they have ever been and we are looking forward to putting on the most exciting show yet, with some of the best music and entertainment in one place on any one night,” said the Producer of the show Drum Production’s Stan Wolfgramm.
The categories in the fashion award reflect the uniqueness of Westfield Style Pasifika :Pasifika Three Piece Collection; Urban Pasifika Street Wear; Pasifika Menswear; Pasifika Evening Wear; Pasifika Bridal Wear; Parent and Child; Painted Body Art; Traditionally Inspired; Asia Pasifika; and Pasifika Hero.
Judges for the 2006 Award were designers Liz Mitchell, Frances Hooper and Denise L’Estrange – Corbet from World, Chris Roberts of Pearl and from Waitakere City’s Pacific Arts Advisory Board, Mary Ama.
The Show has been produced for 13 years and has grown into one of the key fashion and entertainment events in the country.
Westfield New Zealand is the key sponsor of Westfield Style Pasifika and has been since 2002.
PRIZES
The TV One Supreme Award is $3000 cash and a P Pacific Cruise.
The runner up receives a cash prize of $2000
Each Category Winner receives a $1000 cash prize.
