Waiheke property information now available

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL MEDIA RELEASE

12 July 2006

Waiheke property information now available

People on Waiheke Island wanting to research information about properties throughout Auckland city can now do so with ease by ordering a property file CD from the Waiheke Service Centre.

The CDs are now available at the service centre for the first time and are a useful tool if you are planning to buy a property, or currently own one and want more information about it.

Auckland City's Hauraki Gulf Islands manager, Geoff Atherfold, says the CDs give current and prospective property owners access to a wealth of vital information.

"If you're planning on buying new property in Waiheke then a property file CD is invaluable. Your first step should be to purchase one of these CDs.

"The CD contains copies of the records Auckland City holds on a property, such as building consents, drainage reports, swimming pool compliance, correspondence with the council and other information that may not appear on a LIM report," Mr Atherfold says.

Property file CDs can also include information about food or liquor licences and subdivision consents for the site you are interested in.

"We are pleased to offer these CDs at the Waiheke Service Centre to make it possible for those who can't get to the Graham Street service centre or don't have access to the internet to utilise this service," Mr Atherfold said.

The CDs have been available to order from Auckland City's Graham Street office and online since mid 2005 and have proved to be very popular. This prompted the council to make the CDs available at the Waiheke Service Centre.

You can purchase a property file CD for $55 from the Waiheke Service Centre, 10 Belgium Street, Ostend.

The Waiheke Service Centre business hours are 8.30am to 5pm.
