Action Hobson Website Has A New Owner
Aaron Bhatnagar, Hobson C&R Now member and former community board member for Hobson Ward today announced that the former Action Hobson website had a new owner.
"www.actionhobson.org.nz" is the website that was formerly owned by a candidate on the Action Hobson ticket that contested the 2004 local body elections in Hobson Ward. However, that member took down the website and allowed their rights to the Action Hobson name lapse around the middle of last year. Recently, I registered this website on behalf of C&R Now. We have decided to use this website address for the legitimate purpose of scrutinising the lack of performance, the failures and broken promises of the Action Hobson ticket", said Mr Bhatnagar.
"Over time, we will use this website to examine their voting history and their alliance with the left wing City Vision and Labour bloc so that Hobson residents and ratepayers know that Crs Christine Caughey and Richard Simpson are of the left in Auckland City", said Mr Bhatnagar.
"Action Hobson have badly let down Hobson residents and ratepayers. They have voted for and endorsed massive rates rises, when they said they would not. They have proposed massive local spending plans of dubious value without any idea on how to pay for them. An Action Hobson member was also responsible for authorising the cutting down of the Queen St trees, which was fortunately overturned thanks to vigilant opposition in part by C&R Now members," said Mr Bhatnagar.
"C&R Now have confirmed the legitimacy of owning this domain name. Action Hobson decided to let it lapse due to either neglect or disinterest, despite minimal cost to maintain it. A third party using this domain name for the purposes of criticism is a legitimate reason for fair use according to Internet NZ rules (see link below). Negligence and poor organisation is why Action Hobson did not keep this name. We intend to use it to hold them to their record", said Mr Bhatnagar.
