CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 14 January until Thursday 19 January

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1
Ramp and link closures:
Monday 16 until Wednesday 18 January – CLOSED – overnight from 8pm until 5.30am the following morning:

- Khyber Pass Rd off-ramp (SH1 northbound)

Monday 16 until Thursday 19 January – CLOSED – overnight from 8pm until 5.30am the following morning:

- Port on-ramp (SH1 southbound)

- Wellesley St on-ramp (SH1 southbound)

- Port on-ramp (SH16 westbound)

- Wellesley St on-ramp (SH16 westbound)

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 15 until Thursday 19 January – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5am the following morning:

- Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound between Cook St off-ramp to Hobson St on-ramp

Sunday 15 until Tuesday 17 January – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning:

- Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Symonds/Port/Wellesley St off-ramp and Wellington Street on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 15 January – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5am on Sunday:

- Northwestern Motorway to Port (SH16) port bound

- Northwestern Motorway to Southern Motorway (SH16 to SH1) southbound

Sunday 15 until Thursday 19 January – CLOSED – overnight from 11pm until 5am the following morning:

- Hobson on-ramp westbound to Northwestern Motorway (SH16)

Sunday 15 until Tuesday 17 January – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning:

- Southern Motorway to Northwestern motorway (SH1 to SH16 link) westbound

Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 January – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:

- Northwestern Motorway citybound to Nelson St off-ramp

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project, completed in January 2005, covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps.

Stage 2 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.

9.00am – 4.30pm, Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm, Saturday (except long weekends) 10:00am – 12:00pm.
